Artist’s Biography: Magriet Schmidt

I stay in Beachview and every day I have the joy and privilege to be able to have the most beautiful view over the sea.

In 2000 I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia.  I had three brain operations and still struggle with face and head pains.

Trying to forget about my pain and as a form of therapy, I started to paint again.  I also find it quite rewarding to pour some of my personality into my art and it gives me such a great sense of joy to see people enjoying it!

To be grateful to our faithful God, I shall continue to worship Him for the talent I was blessed with.  I also believe that He will give me the strength to paint for many years to come.

My inspiration for this art piece:

I am dedicating this piece of art to a great friend of mine.  She always just saw the beauty in life and to live regardless and content of what life throughs at us. I believe that she has found her pot of gold at the end of her rainbow. We all are entitled to find that pot of gold one day.

The road ahead of us is unknown and filled with potholes and bumps and even heartaches. And to life live to the fullest, I will always remember what a good example she was with her positive attitude.
